The REAL Halloween

For trick or treating, we went to my in-laws neighborhood so we could trick or treat with cousin Brett again. They have such a fun neighborhood and we have lots of family there.

Ashley, Brett, and Trevor with grandma Cox right before we left.

It was so fun to see Ashley get excited about the holiday this year. Last year she was still a baby. She wasn't even walking yet (and didn't until 17 1/2 months). She didn't really understand the whole concept, but this year she was all about it.

It was a good night, with lots of candy to show for it :)

Halloween part 2

Trev's preschool had a Halloween hullabaloo and trunk or treat.

Trev and some of the boys listening to the "scary" story. I think Trev is finding it really intense. hehehe.

The class performed some silly halloween songs for the parents before the trunk or treat.

Halloween part 1

So the first excitement of Halloween this year was the pumpkin..."decorating". I guess we did end up carving Trevor's but Ashley just wanted to color hers. Here we are excited to clean the pumpkins!

Little miss as Minnie mouse. She was so excited to be minnie this year, she had to tell everyone! Actually, she still does, and it's over! :) Her conversations with everyone this year went as follows... "Me Minnie Halloween!!! What you be halloween?" She is definitely my social child. Love her!

My awesome skeleton man! When I saw the costume at the store, I knew he would pick it, because he has become very fascinated with the human body and how things work lately. Sure enough he picked the skeleton, but Mario was a close second.

When we got to the ward party this year, we found that Ashley's little nursery friend Hayden was also Minnie mouse. So, of course we mommies had to snap a picture.

One of the families in the ward brought these cute little train cars that were pulled by a tractor. The kids of course had to try it. But we had them go together so big brother Trev could keep an eye on his sis during the ride.

Staheli Farm Field trip

Trevor's preschool class learned about farms in the month of October and had a field trip to a real farm! It was so much fun. I went as a chaperone, and siblings were able to go also. Ashley loved it. Here are Trevor and Ashley with the two girls in our neighborhood we carpool to preschool with. (Emma and Shaye).

My kids posing on a bale of hay with a tractor in the background. It doesn't get anymore "farm" than that, right? :)

After touring the farm, the kids ended up in the kid zone play area there. They had so many cute little things for the kids to do, and play on. Here is Ashley riding the rubber tire horse swing.

Trevor played with this FOREVER! The kids pumped the water spouts to push the duckies down the pipe to the other side. So clever!

Last of all, Trevor braved the rope swing after watching others do it. He did so well! We had so much fun at the farm, and hope we'll get to go back again soon!

YO-HO-HO!

This year Trevor wanted a friend party. After much thinking, he decided on a pirate party. He loves Jake and the Never Land Pirates, and the idea of a treasure hunt sealed the deal. We had a blast. We made cupcakes, played games, made pirate spy glasses, and had a very fun treasure hunt. It was craziness while it lasted, but the kids were wonderful. AND once it was over mom was very happy :)

ARR!!!!

Mmmm...Ashley has yet to meet a cupcake she doesn't like :)

Water babes

First of all, I have no idea where this boy learned to pose....hahaha. I swear it wasn't me. Here he is with his friend Dallen. We have done LOTS of swimming this summer and the kids LOVE to be in the water. Since I was a swimmer, I had to make sure my kids were not afraid of the water. Trevor is almost there with the swimming by his self, but we still use floaties, because he thinks he can swim now, and gets a little too confident. He still needs some help with the breathing in deep water. These pictures are of when our friends the Christensens came over.

Ashley and baby Kade. She really wants one of these...a baby I mean. Maybe someday I'll give her one. She would be such a good little helper.

Trevor loves to be thrown up HIGH by his daddy. Here he is catching some "wicked" air!

New

Trevor finally got himself a handsome new suit for church, so he had to show it off for the camera. As you can see, he is not shy.

We put Ashley in a big girl bed the beginning of August and she loves it. She has pink princess sheets, which she calls her "I know you" sheets. (Everything princess is "I know you", as in the Sleeping Beauty song "once upon a dream") The transition to the big girl bed has been so easy. She goes right to sleep at bedtime AND for naps. Trevor still hasn't figured out how to stay in bed, the little stink.... :)
